During a one-week seminar at the HfG where I study I had a course called “The Moving Poster”. Brian Stone from the Ohio State University teached us how posters can come to live and move. Adding some movement makes them stand out and definitely a lot more interesting to watch. I decided to pick the cirque du soleil as a central theme because artists always are in fascinating movement.
My intention was to let the two artist being discovered by the spotlight that in the beginning slightly strikes them. That way I tried to build up some tension to finally let the viewer see what the poster is about. Also I liked the idea of the static artists that seem so be in movement just because of the moving spotlight.
